Mitzvah Day’s Apple Crumble

 

Filling:

12kg baking apples

900g granulated sugar

8 teaspoons cinnamon

16 tables spoons lemon juice

 

Topping:

1.5 kg white flour

1.5kg soft brown sugar

1.5kg margarine

 

Method

Grease 4 large foil containers

Slice apples and line in dishes

Scatter with sugar cinnamon and lemon juice

Rub together fat, flour and sugar

Place on top of apples, ensure they are covered

Sprinkle with caster sugar
